“What is this all about?”

I’m glad you asked.

I read an article by a pastor who challenged men’s ministry leaders to start writing to their men. He suggested writing about characters in the scripture, their struggle, and how God used them to fulfill His purpose. What a great idea! Personally, I think we’re all characters…we all have struggles…but oftentimes some men have a difficult time seeing how God could use them in His plans because of those things.

If you are part of the Real Men (RM) Bible Study, you know that we meet on the first and third Monday of the month. When you meet twice a month, there just doesn’t seem to be the continuity that we need together as a group. That’s why we have our men’s support groups on the alternating weeks. But still, not all the men are able to attend, so in an effort to keep us all moving in the same direction, I’m going to start sending out some (hopefully) encouraging, inspiring, or challenging words a couple times a month.

My prayer, first off, is that you take a few minutes to read it, and then secondly, that it will stir your heart in a good way. Some of the guys at RM have been walking with Christ a long time, but every day I am reminded, myself, of how desperately I need the presence of Jesus with me daily. As much as I would like to say “I’ve arrived,” I do know that won’t happen until the day when we hear the “trumpet blast.” So, until then, we all need all the help we can get.

1 Cor 15:52-53
52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.    NIV

We have a great hope in Christ Jesus through His redemption, and we have a bunch of great guys striving to follow in His footsteps. But sometimes we just need each other’s help and strength at different points in the journey.

Let’s do this together, and as we do, we make Him known in a greater way.
